Build service kits once, sell them the same way every time

Bundle parts into reusable service kits with a code, then explode them onto any quote, order or counter sale as priced component lines.

Overview

Service writers at equipment and machinery dealers rebuild the same kits by hand on every job, a 250-hour service, a hydraulic seal set, a filter and oil change, keying in the same parts line by line. It is slow, it is easy to miss a component, and two writers quoting the same job land on two different prices. That inconsistency drags out quoting and quietly leaks margin one job at a time. MDMS fixes it with a reusable kit library, where you bundle the parts a job needs into a named kit with its own code, once, and then reuse it.

Each kit holds its component parts with quantities, plus optional components a writer can include or leave out to suit the machine in front of them. Drop the kit onto a quote, sales order or counter sale and it explodes into its component lines, with every component priced through the price matrix as it lands so the numbers match the rest of your pricing. Choose whether the kit prices as the sum of its components or as a single fixed kit price. And because selling a kit relieves each component from inventory through the normal issue path, your stock on-hand moves exactly as it would if the parts had been added by hand, no separate reconciliation to chase.

What's included

  • Reusable named kit library with codes
  • Kit components with quantities and optional lines
  • Explode a kit into priced component lines
  • Sum-of-components or fixed kit price

How it works

  1. Bundle parts into a named kit with a code
  2. Add component quantities and mark optional lines
  3. Explode the kit onto a quote, order or counter sale

Manage a library of reusable kits, each with a code and pricing method, and see the exact component parts that make up any kit at a glance. Writers build a kit once and reuse it on every job instead of rekeying the same lines.
