Work Order Parts Check Before Dispatch
Flags missing or on-order parts the first time a service job is dispatched, and lets a manager dispatch anyway with a written reason.

What work order parts check is
The work order parts check looks at the parts on a service job at the moment it is first given a technician or a time slot, and tells the person dispatching whether each part is ready. A part still to be issued is marked OK when stock covers it, On order when open purchase orders cover the shortfall, or Short when nothing does.
Short does not lock the job. A manager, service advisor or parts manager can dispatch anyway by typing a reason, and that reason is stored with the user and the time. The point is a conversation before the technician is on the machine with half a kit, not a wall between the counter and the workshop.
Because it only fires on first dispatch, it stays out of the way of the daily shuffle. Moving a job from Tuesday to Wednesday does not re-run the check, and parts that are already issued are not judged again. It sits inside the Service and Parts modules and needs nothing configured beyond the switch in Admin > Features.

Work order parts check in a working day
A service advisor drags a hydraulic repair onto Thursday's board. The seals are on a purchase order due Friday, the hose is on the shelf. The check shows the hose as OK and the seals as On order. The advisor sees the gap before the customer is told Thursday, moves the job to Friday afternoon, and the workshop never has a machine in pieces waiting on a courier.

Frequently asked questions
- Does it reserve the parts for the job?
- No. It reads current stock and open purchase orders at the moment of first dispatch and reports what it finds. Another job can still take the same stock afterwards. If you need stock held for waiting work orders, the back-order allocation pack does that.
- Who can dispatch a job that shows Short?
- A manager, service advisor or parts manager. They type a reason, the job is dispatched, and the override is audited.
- Does it check build orders as well?
- No. It covers service work orders only. Build orders keep their own purchase order gate before commissioning.
